The Tour of Cheviots & Kielder by Road

The route map for The Tour of Cheviots & Kielder by Road route.

The bi-directional Road bike Tour of Cheviot & Kielder is a circular all tarmac cycle route which most competent cyclists will ride in two days or less. Because this loop is a combination of mostly existing cycle routes, Road bike Tour of Cheviot & Kielder is very easy and low cost to create. It is extremely scenic to cycle and a most enjoyable experience as it passes through a wide range of different landscapes on both sides of the border. The loop circumnavigates the Cheviot Hills; it passes through Kielder Water and Forest Park and includes amazingly quiet cycle-friendly roads between east of Bonchester Bridge and Kirk Yetholm.

- Bellingham to Wooler – Pennine Cycleway (signed)

- Wooler to Bonchester Bridge (Borderlands Cycle Route (to be signed) & Border Loop (signed)

- Bonchester Bridge to Saughtree (needs 6 signs)

- Saughtree to Bellingham (Reivers Cycle Route (signing to be improved)

This route could have a map-share with the already created and waymarked Border Loop in Scotland.
