The Dozen Dales Cycle Routes

The Dozen Dales by Road & by MTB are two intertwining cycle routes between Wooler at the north end of Northumberland National Park and Skipton at the south end of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The North Pennines AONB provides the wonderful filling for this amazing ‘sandwich’. Traversing 12 main Dales, the road route is entirely on tarmac and the mountain bike route is off-road as much as possible. Both alignments use existing cycle routes where applicable. Three loops have been created to extend the tour and / or to attract cyclists to return to each of the 3 areas for longer stays.
